Connectors Autodesk Fusion
Autodesk Fusion connector
- Planned
- Fusion API (Python and C++)
Sketches, features, parameters and components through the Fusion scripting and add-in API. With CADMCP.AI you would ask for this work in plain words from Claude or Codex, and every change would wait for a person’s approval.
- Your AI app
- CADMCP.AI server
- Agent on your computer
- Fusion API (Python and C++)
- A person approves
- Autodesk Fusion
Status: planned. The Autodesk Fusion connector is not built yet; SOLIDWORKS comes first. This page describes what the Autodesk Fusion connector is designed to do, so you can tell us whether it fits your work. Nothing on it has been tested with Autodesk Fusion.
Examples of requests
The kind of work this connector is for. You would write your own the same way: say what you want, with sizes and names.
- Add a user parameter called wall = 2.5 mm and use it for the shell thickness.
- Make a 40 mm cube with 3 mm fillets on every edge.
- List the components in this design and how they are jointed.
- Export each body as its own STL file.
The tasks it should cover
- Create sketches with constraints and dimensions
- Extrude, revolve, fillet, chamfer, shell and pattern
- Read and change user parameters
- Organise components and add joints
- Export to STEP, STL and other formats
- Report on a design: bodies, components, parameters
What any connector can do depends on the program, its version and your licence. We will publish what the Autodesk Fusion connector really does when it is ready, and not before.
Fusion API (Python and C++)
The Fusion connector is planned to use the Fusion API, the same interface Fusion's own Python and C++ scripts and add-ins use, so every change is an ordinary feature in your timeline.
The CADMCP.AI Agent runs on the computer where Fusion is installed, next to a small Fusion add-in that shows each change for approval.
The AI proposes. A person approves. Then it runs.
Your AI app can read, measure and plan. Anything that would change your model becomes a request that shows the exact change. It runs only after a person approves it inside the CAD program, and you can always decline.
Your tools, your licences
- Autodesk Fusion installed and signed in on your computer
- Your own AI app: Claude (Free, Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise) or OpenAI Codex. AI usage is billed to your own AI plan.
- A CADMCP.AI account. Early access is free.
Your model stays yours
Your CAD files stay on your computer. Requests and tool results pass through our server on their way to your AI app, and we do not train AI models on them.
