Docs Install the agent
Install the agent
The CADMCP.AI Agent is a small signed program that links your CAD program to your CADMCP.AI account. It runs as you, sits in the Windows tray, and dials out to our server, so no ports are opened on your computer.
CADMCP.AI AGENT FOR WINDOWS
Download it from Your CADMCP.AI once you have a plan.
What you need
- A Windows computer with your CAD program installed and licensed.
- A CADMCP.AI account with a plan.
- Your AI app connected: Claude or Codex.
Install
- Download the installer from Your CADMCP.AI.
- Run it. Windows shows the publisher’s name before it starts; check that it reads [placeholder: publisher name on the code-signing certificate]. If it does not, stop and contact us.
- The installer adds the CADMCP.AI Agent. For SOLIDWORKS it also adds our SOLIDWORKS add-in, which shows the approval card inside SOLIDWORKS.
- The agent starts and appears in the Windows tray.
Pair your computer
- Click the tray icon. The agent shows a short pairing code.
- On cadmcp.ai, open Your CADMCP.AI, go to Your computers, choose Pair a computer and type the code.
- The agent shows that it is connected, with your email and the computer’s name.
- Choose what may leave this computer: screenshots and full file paths. You can change this later in the agent.
Open your CAD program
Requests that read or change a model need the CAD program open. In SOLIDWORKS, check that our add-in is switched on under Tools, Add-ins, and that its task pane is visible: that is where approval cards appear.
What the agent shows you
- Status: connected or not, the account and the computer name.
- Pause AI access: stops every request to this computer at once, until you resume. It works even without the website.
- Recent calls: the time and tool of each request, and whether it was allowed or refused, so you can see what the AI looked at.
- Unpair: removes this computer from your account.
More than one computer
You can pair more than one computer (see your plan). Requests go to the computer you mark as active in Your CADMCP.AI, so a change never appears on a computer you are not sitting at.
Updates and removal
The agent updates itself only with updates signed by us. To remove it, unpair it first, then uninstall it from Windows Settings, Apps.
