Connectors Rhino
Rhino connector
- Planned
- RhinoCommon and Rhino Python
NURBS curves, surfaces, meshes and layers through RhinoCommon and Rhino's Python scripting. With CADMCP.AI you would ask for this work in plain words from Claude or Codex, and every change would wait for a person’s approval.

- Rhino
Status: planned. The Rhino connector is not built yet; SOLIDWORKS comes first. This page describes what the Rhino connector is designed to do, so you can tell us whether it fits your work. Nothing on it has been tested with Rhino.
Examples of requests
The kind of work this connector is for. You would write your own the same way: say what you want, with sizes and names.
- Put every closed polysurface on a layer called Solids and colour it blue.
- Find objects with naked edges and select them.
- Make a 200 mm diameter circle on the XY plane and loft it to the curve I selected.
- Export the selected objects as STEP.
The tasks it should cover
- Create and edit curves, surfaces, polysurfaces and meshes
- Organise layers, blocks and object names
- Set the inputs of a Grasshopper definition
- Measure lengths, areas, volumes and bounding boxes
- Export to 3DM, STEP, OBJ and STL
- Clean up a model: duplicates, bad objects, naked edges
What any connector can do depends on the program, its version and your licence. We will publish what the Rhino connector really does when it is ready, and not before.
RhinoCommon and Rhino Python
The Rhino connector is planned to work through RhinoCommon, the .NET SDK behind Rhino plug-ins, and Rhino's Python scripting, so it can also set the inputs of a Grasshopper definition.
The CADMCP.AI Agent runs on the computer where Rhino is installed, next to a small Rhino plug-in that shows each change for approval.
The AI proposes. A person approves. Then it runs.
Your AI app can read, measure and plan. Anything that would change your model becomes a request that shows the exact change. It runs only after a person approves it inside the CAD program, and you can always decline.
Your tools, your licences
- Rhino installed and licensed on your computer
- Your own AI app: Claude (Free, Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise) or OpenAI Codex. AI usage is billed to your own AI plan.
- A CADMCP.AI account. Early access is free.
Your model stays yours
Your CAD files stay on your computer. Requests and tool results pass through our server on their way to your AI app, and we do not train AI models on them.
